Different Phenomena Encountered during Dilatometry of Low-density Steels

چکیده

Abstract In recent decades, highly alloyed low-density steels are being developed to reduce the weight of different automotive parts. Dilatometry can be a very useful experimental technique understand phase transformations during heating or cooling new steel alloys. When performing dilatometry measurements some assumptions made such as homogeneity sample material tested experiment. this study, tests were performed for two steels, and variations composition between surface inner part analyzed. The migration manganese by diffusion from interior samples finally its evaporation on under vacuum observed. This compositional gradient generated in may influence veracity interpretation results obtained when working with high detachment grains created change near is also investigated.

Solidification Phenomena and Properties of Some Cast Tool Steels

The freezing process. microstructures and phase relationships in some experimental cast tool steels have been investigated and developed under the various solidification conditions. Experimental steels were based on AISI M2 and M10 grades high speed steels. Addition of carbide forming elements such as niobium and titanium with and without extra carbon were made to the molten bath of the base st...

Grafting of Acrylamide to Low Density Polyethylene During Melt Processing

Acrylamide was grafted in low density polyethylene during melt processing in the presence of a free radical initiator using a torque rheometer in a closed system. Effects of processing time, acrylamide and benzoyl peroxide concentrations were studied. FTIR studies revealed that the degree of grafting increased by an increase in acrylamide concentration. Maximum grafting was obtained at 7 mi...

Percolation Phenomena in Low and High Density Systems

We consider the 2D quenched–disordered q–state Potts ferromagnets and show that in the translation invariant measure, averaged over the disorder, at self–dual points any amalgamation of q − 1 species will fail to percolate despite an overall (high) density of 1 − q−1. Further, in the dilute bond version of these systems, if the system is just above threshold, then throughout the low temperature...

Low-Temperature Carburization of Austenitic Stainless Steels

LOW-TEMPERATURE CARBURIZATION is a gaseous carburization process performed at atmospheric pressure, at temperatures where the kinetics of substitutional diffusion are very slow. Low-temperature carburization hardens the surface of austenitic stainless steels through the diffusion of interstitial carbon, without the formation of carbides. The surface must be activated, by modification and remova...
